🔥 Recovering from Burnout Central
🔢 A slew of jobs
Burnout Town
I did that thing where I disappeared for a bit, but a little longer than usual. I needed a significant reset after a summer of intense event planning, overstimulation, and the impending doom of late-stage capitalism 🙃
As always, I appreciate everyone’s patience while I get myself together to move on to the next stage. That said, there are some things that this project has made very clear to me, and my goal needs to shift as these things come to light.
Ghost Jobs: A lot of the jobs I end up sharing with you are undoubtedly ghost jobs, and that sucks. I want to work on a system that helps add some transparency (as much as I can gather) around how long a role has been posted for, and how many times a company has posted that role.
Poor Interview Experiences: Every now and then, I’ll hear from someone who had a very bad experience interviewing for a role listed here. I want to ensure expectations are set appropriately going in - this is a hard one since it requires folks to reach back out to me.
Other things will come along as I get back into the swing of this. I want to put more effort into the talent directory and would like to find some sponsors who are actually dedicated to this space.
Thank you for being so supportive of my passion project along the way! I started doing this to make it easier for folks who are job hunting to get a pile of roles in their inbox, and I want to continue to do that, but there are some flaws in our current market that I want to address along with it. Ignoring those flaws, I think, are a part of the burnout, so it’s time for a change!
For folks who are subscribed but not actively on the market (or are allies keeping tabs on how the support job work is going), your support has been a tremendous help. if you’d like to continue to contribute, consider:

This Week’s Roles
The site and some other things will be under construction for a bit while I restructure some things and maybe look for another platform to use instead, so you can see all of the roles on the shared Airtable. Some new things to look forward to as I make changes to the site are;
Industry Tags - I know some folks are targeting or trying to avoid specific industries, so hopefully, that will be helpful.
Hiring Manager Contact - For folks who want to reach out to hiring managers, I’ll do my best to direct you to the best person.
Repost Tracking - Hopefully, this will help to address the ghost job issues we’re running into.

Phone Screen: A New Project
Related to the Talent Network, a project I’ve been intending to work on for months but just didn’t have time, is a highlight series. I want to interview folks who are looking for work and provide you with a short intro video to pair with your resume. More on this to come, but if you’re interested in participating, please let me know!
